HSBC Bank Oman plays a significant role in the Omani community with its active Corporate Sustainability program, focusing on education, environment and community projects.
Protecting our World, Protecting our Resources
Partnering with "Globe" program administered by Ministry of Education, our volunteers have visited schools which are connected to "Globe" in four districts (Muscat, Dhahira, Batinah, Dhakhliyah) to highlight to the students the importance of playing an active role in protecting earth and its resources, most important resource being water.
Kid's Read, a program introduced by HSBC in partnership with the British Council and Ministry of Education, has been running in Oman since 2011 and gaining massive popularity. The program aims at instilling in children the joy of reading outside the classroom.
Having attended exclusive workshops led by a professional British Council trainer and story teller, HSBC Bank Oman volunteers continue to play an active role in reading to children in a number of Government schools. The programs geographical coverage will widen beyond the capital Muscat in 2013-2014
ESO's Frankincense Project
A major environmental project that HSBC Bank Oman continues to fund for the fourth year in a row. A project initiated and administered by the Environmental Society of Oman, it aims at improving the cultivation of the Frankincense trees to elevate the harvest of the frankincense.
Dar Al Atta Charitable Organization
HSBC Bank Oman continues to support Dar Al Atta, a local charity organization. Notable projects include supporting underprivileged students and Ramadan community campaigns.
Al Rahma Charitable Organization
Ramadan campaign was launched this year to engage customers and employees to raise funds for underprivileged children and families in Oman. Al Rahma Charitable Organization was instrumental to ensuring staple food supplies provided under the campaign reached deserving families.
