The transfers that you can perform are:
From one of your accounts held with the Bank to another of your accounts or third party accounts held within the Bank.
Payments into your Credit Card Account.
Payments to third parties who do not have an account with the Bank, inside and outside Oman.
Utility bill payments (DRS - Debt Recovery Services, for payment of internet bills and OIFC - Oman Investment and Finance Co., for payment of Water, Electricity and Telephone bills). This service is available to customers who have registered at the Branch or through our Phone Banking Service.
The transfers made to beneficiary accounts can be set up to be made at a specified future date or set up as recurring transfers.
Yes, you can request a Cashier´s Order or Demand Draft online through our ´Transfer´ menu. You have to specify the account to be debited, beneficiary details and amount. You can also provide your own short description of payment details that will appear on your statement.
When you use internet banking, there is a limit to the amount of money you can transact on a day. These limits are the maximum you can transact in one day (i.e. 24-hour period). These limits are given below:
Transfers to your own accounts Amount (in OMR)
(linked to your customer number) 50,000
Third party payments 10,000
After you have chosen the type of transfer you require and entered the transfer details, click on ´Send´ for processing. You are then shown the details you have entered giving you an opportunity to check them once again. You can confirm or change your instruction at this point. Once you have confirmed your instruction, the screen will display a final Acknowledgement that your transfer has been processed. A unique transaction reference number is displayed for the transaction, which must be quoted if you have any query on the transfer.
Transfers made through internet banking are reflected in your account statements with a unique transactional reference number e.g. 123X456.
You can transfer money to accounts in other banks or third parties online by requesting a Cahier´s Order, Demand Draft, transfer to other local banks or banks abroad. These options are available under the ´Transfers´ menu
Yes, transfers made to beneficiary accounts within the Bank will be processed immediately. Other transfer requests are subject to cut-off time and may be processed on the same day or latest by the next banking day. Please refer to ´Cut-off Times´ on the left navigation bar.
When you make transfers, you have an option to transfer immediately or on a future date. Transfers that are scheduled to occur on a future date are saved under the ´Scheduled Transfers´ option with the ´Transfers´ menu.
Standing instructions for recurring payments can be set up in the ´Transfers Within HSBC Oman´, ´Transfers to Local Banks´ and ´Transfer to HSBC Branches or other Banks abroad´ options. For example, you could set up an instruction to transfer a fixed sum of money periodically to a particular account.
After setting up scheduled or recurring transfers, you may view the transfers by clicking on ´Scheduled Transfers´ within the ´Transfers´ menu. You may then sort them either in Date order, Beneficiary order or Transfer Amount order
Transfers that were carried out immediately cannot be changed. If you have set up scheduled transfers or recurring transfers that are yet to be carried out, you may change or delete these transfers through the respective pages anytime up to one day prior to the execution date.
Repeated transfers, which are not necessarily for a fixed amount or interval, to the same beneficiaries can be saved as templates thus preventing the need for repeated input of details. You can then use these templates to transfer amounts to the specified beneficiaries whenever required.
Once you have entered all the required information on a transfer page, click on ´Save´ to create a template to use for future transfers. You may also click on ´Send and Save´ if you wish to proceed with the transfer according to the instructions entered and save the instructions as a template for future use.
Yes, history of transfers performed online can be viewed through the ´Transfer History Enquiry´ option.
